根據消息指出,S60第三版的機型將全面採用330MHz的CPU

那新一代的S60性能肯定令人期待!

There has been some rumors and leads going around that indicates that ALL the new Nseries phones running Symbian OS 9.1 Series60 3.0 will run at 330mhz CPU speed!

Let's look at the facts. First of all, Older versions of Symbian (8.x) with Series60 2.x were using the TI OMAP 1710 processor, running at 220mhz, so a faster CPU on this OS version is impossible. But the newest version of Symbian have added support for the latest ARM processors, which means it will support ARM11 and thus making the TI OMAP 2420 processor, with a 330mhz core possible.

Also, the latest prototype of N91 is supprisingly fast. In fact, even though it is a still just a proto and on top of that has a 4gb HDD, it is actually a lot faster than both N70 and N90. Lastly, well, it would be only logical for Nokia to give their s60 phones a speed-facelift by now, don't you think? The main reason why some people don't like symbian is because it can be quite slow at times. Let's look at the s60 history and their CPUs:

v1 devices (7650, 3650, 6600, N-Gage etc.): TI OMAP 1510 processor, with a 104mhz core.
v2 devices (6630, 6680, N70, N90 etc.): TI OMAP 1710 processor, with a 220MHz core.
v3 devices (N71, N80, N91, N92): TI OMAP 2420 processor, with a 330MHz core. (?)

Could it be true? Are Nokia finaly going to give their ever-popular s60 platform another speedboost?
